Amethyst as a soft violet

A Byzantine gold necklace keeps the same appetite as a weather of beads. Amethysts as the cool notes, gold spheres as the pauses, a pale glass as a quieter hour. You would feel that violet before you counted a clasp. Sapphire would have asked for a harder blue. This purple stays soft.
